Chrome Girl Bare Your Inner Chrome
Have you heard of Chrome Girl?  I hadn't, until recently, but now I’m glad I have!  Chrome Girl was started by Melissa Ravo & Jaime Boreanaz, two friends who loved to spend time together with their young girls, painting their nails.  When they realized the chemicals that were in most nail polishes, they decided that they needed to create a brand that was safer for both women and girls alike!  The two women and their husbands came together to create Chrome Girl in 2013.  Their product  is 5-free, which means it is produced without formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, fomaldehyde resin or camphor.

Fun Fact – Jaime Boreanaz is married to David Boreanaz, aka Angel, aka Booth

I was sent the Spring/Summer 2014 collection Bare Your Inner Chro
me, which consists of 5 crèmes and one shimmer.  All of the colors are inspired by the beach!

Overall, the formula on these polishes was fabulous.  Summer Storm, Makin’ Waves, Tan Cheeks and Salty Kisses were all smooth and extremely easy to apply.  Beach Undies was a little streaky and uneven, but self leveled after the second coat.  The only polish that I had trouble with was of course my favorite – I Scream.  It was streaky and uneven, even after three coats.  Instead of applying a fourth coat, I simply used a generous layer of Seche Vite and the result was wonderful!  In fact I wore it for 3 days with no chipping.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Bare Your Inner Chrome collection.  The mix of bright colors and cool tones is very “me” and I am glad it was my first introduction to Chrome Girl!

Chrome Girl polishes retail for $12.00 and can be found on their website.  They also offer Pina Colada nail polish remover wipes and melon scented cuticle oil!  Which shade is your favorite?

Essie Hide & Go Chic with Fashion Playground

I recently picked up the Spring 2014 Essie Hide & Go Chic mini cube from one of my favorite eBay sellers.  I love Essie mini’s!  The namesake polish of the collection,  Hide & Go Chic, is a fabulous squishy crème, a little more teal than it appears here.  I wore Fashion Playground as an accent.  Fashion Playground has that hidden shimmer that Essie does so well… Except the polish is so light you can barely see it!

Do you love Essie mini bottles as much as I do?
