Christmas comes early this year to Sephora beauty fanatics. I am sure many of you, like myself, look forward to this time of year. I love to purchase holiday “gift” items… Merry Christmas to ME!

I purchased this year’s LORAC palette during the Sephora Friends and Family sale. Well, palette may be an understatement.
VIB’s its not too late, this weekend you can still save 20%! Check your email for discount that can be used online or in store. The cost of this palette is $56 but I only paid $44.80.
What LORAC says:
Box Office Sensation (Sephora Exclusive)
What it is:
A breathtaking collection of 49 products for the eyes, lips and cheeks in a glamorous, mirrored train case.
What it does:
This decadent set contains 36 eye shadows, nine lip glosses, three blushes, and one bronzer that will help you bring out your inner starlet. Packaged in a compact, faux-crocodile train case with swing out shelves, this cute little number with a dazzling variety of colors packs a big punch.
Let’s look inside, shall we?
First of all, I want to comment on the construction. In pictures the outside packaging looked chintzy and flimsy to me. I am happy to say in real life the packaging, while not beauty, is sturdy. It is very well made, right down to the magnetic snap.
The shadows are a mix of satin, matte, and satin with shimmer.

Warm Side A

Warm Side B

The second layer hold the cooler tones, my favorite! You will see that I have already used side B before I managed to take pics.

Cool Side A

Cool Side B

Lips, Blush, and Bronzer
My overall thoughts on this palette: I love the cool shades, I will not get very much use of the warmer shades. However, I think it is great to have such a wide array of warmer shades for those times I want to change up my look. For example, I can pull off warmer shades much easier in the summer with a tan. But I don’t actually ever BUY warm shades. So now I have an additional 18 colors I never would have owned before. I am in L♥VE with Cool Side B. I have been having trouble finding the perfect purple smoky eye, and this palette has so many wearable purple combinations! I have nothing to say for the bottom layer, I have not yet tried any of the lip gloss, blush or bronzer. They all have the delicate shimmer in which LORAC is known for, but I don’t like combining shimmery eyes with shimmery cheeks. I have been reaching for a lot of matte blush lately! I look forward to trying out these blushers when I brave some of the matte shades.
What do you think? Have any of you already picked this up?
