Saturday SPAM - Bieber Fever, Part Deux

I'm a Belieber
Today I am sharinag with you the second round of Justin Bieber polishes.  I have noticed these in stock at my local Walmart.   First up, I'm a Believer - very pretty medium purple, lighter than Grape Pop or Funky Dunkey, and slightly more red-toned.  3 coats, great creme formula.  Recommend!

One Time Lime
I really wanted to like One Time Lime, a bright grass green.  It was streaky at first but smooth after the third coat.  But.  It.  Stains!

U Make Me Smile over "Baby" Blue
Baby Blue was my favorite of the collection, here I show it with one coat of U Make Me Smile on top.  Super bright robin's egg blue that really pops against my skintone.  Baby Blue only required two coats, but it does stain as well!

Redy To Runaway Love?
Perfect red creme, shown here with two coats.  A third coat would have eliminated any VNL.  If I liked red, this would be a must-have..

Not a Gold Bigger
I did enjoy wearing No a Gold Bigger.  I usually have a hard time pulling off golds, most are too warm for my skin tone, but this was just cool enough.

Overall, I liked this collection much more than the first.  If it were not for the staining, I would purchase Baby Blue and One Time Lime.  I am glad I got to try them!

Have a Happy Saturday!

I could use one of these cocktails...

I just came across this post on my favorite Polish blog (as in from Poland).  Sabbatha, I hope you don't mind!  How freakin' cute are these polish names!!!

I will have one of each, please!

Texas Browns

I have put off posting these for a while now.  I guess I just don't like browns!  Although, now that I think of it, these colors remind me of Texas a lot more than the rest of the collection.  I ended up purchasing 8 of the 12 polishes in the Texas collection, but I did not buy either of these.

I'm Winking at YOU!

Illamasqua wink was part of the Spring 2010 collection.  I missed it when it came to Sephora, so a lovely UK blogger picked it up for me!!!!!  Thanks R!  I don't have too many of these lavender/lilac purple pastels, so I was glad to add it to my stash.  As will most pastels, it was a little chalky, but better than most of the other pastels I tried that year.  *cough, ChG, cough*

What is your favorite pastely purple shade?

Super Duper Huge Giveaway! CLOSED!

I am sure you have noticed the Apothica link I added to my site a few months ago?  I hope you had a chance to check it out, I know I have! In fact, I have already caved and ordered 3 (!) times from there!

You saw the Hourglass Rouge Femme lipstick I blogged about in my very first Makeup Monday post, it is still the most utilized lipstick in my bag.  What I haven't had a chance to share with you yet are the Deborah Lippman polishes and the Paul & Joe Eye Gloss I have been enjoying!  They also have an absolutely fantastic range of Napoleon Perdis makeup!

I love the Hourglass brand (obviously) but for my lacquerheads I want you to know that Apothica carries brands such as:

The fabulous people at Apothica (along with their sister sites SkinCareRX and skinbotanica) are sponsoring a giveaway contest for a $50 gift card! One lucky reader will be able to select the prize - or prizes - of her choice from any of the three sites.  It could be YOU!

Makeup Monday Volume IV - Smashbox Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15

I was trying to decide what to post for Makeup Monday when these Smashbox items magically appeared in my mailbox on Saturday.

Now, I have been wearing Smashbox glosses for about two years, but I had never tried this formula before.  I have always purchased the Lip Enhancing sets sold at Christmas time.  They are supposed to be moisturizing and "plumping."  I liked the Sheer Color shades the best, and had often steered away from the full color shades, like Divine, shown below.  So when I saw the color that was sent for me to review, Eternity, I was doubtful I would like it.  I could not have been more wrong!

Limitless Long Wear in Eternity (top)
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Divine (bottom)

Limitless Long Wear in Eternity (right)
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Divine (left)

Description from website:
Our new long-wearing lip gloss gives you nonstop gorgeous color and shine for up to 6 hours, while SPF 15 protects your pout. The luxurious formula with vitamins A, C & E and sea kale revitalizes and nourishes lips for a silky-smooth texture that’s never tacky or dry. Specially contoured velour wand gives you a precise and comfortable one-coat application.

Limitless Long Wear in Eternity (top)
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Divine (bottom)
Eternity is described as a shimmery bronze.  I thought it would look horrible on me, instead it warmed up my dead lips perfectly without looking overdone. Now, this is described as a 6 hour gloss.  I have told you all about my horrible lip smushing/smashing habit. The lip enhancing glosses last 45 minutes to an hour on me. The Limitless gloss lasted 3 hours!  I was astounded.  If this had never been sent to me, I know I wouldn't have picked it up... but I have a feeling this is going to be fighting for first place with my Hourglass lipstick in my bag!

Taste the Rainbow - FingerPaints Peace, Love and Color Summer Collection

FingerPaints Give Pink a Chance
FingerPaints Give Pink a Chance
(creme)
2 coats, no topcoat

FingerPaints Give Pink a Chance

Although this polish appears (to me) to be more red than pink, it's still the perfect summer pedi color!  Maybe they should call it Give Punch a Chance?  Either way, it had the most perfect formula.  If you like pink, red, coral, or punch shades, you should pick this one up!

FingerPaints Outta Sight Orange
FingerPaints Outta Sight Orange
(this has the same formula as OPI CMiYN, Zoya Charla, etc... I just don't know what to call it!)

2 coats, no topcoat

FingerPaints Outta Sight Orange

This is the kind of polish that makes me wonder why I don't reach for orange more often!  It reminds me of a fresh cup of OJ.

FingerPaints Psychedelic Sunshine
FingerPaints Psychedelic Sunshine
(jelly with microglitter)
Index and Middle - 3 coats + Seche Vite
Ring and Pinky - 2 coats + Seche Vite

FingerPaints Psychedelic Sunshine

Psychedelic Sunshine is my hands-down favorite from this collection.  Unlike a lot of other yellows that make my skin look sallow, this one makes my fingers look happy!  The microglitter is a rainbow of holographic colors - be sure you click on the pictures to enlarge!

FingerPaints Groovy Green
FingerPaints Groovy Green
(frost)
2 coats +  Seche Vite

FingerPaints Groovy Green

Out of the six polish in this collection, Groovy Green is the only one I had a problem with.  Not only was it a frost, but a lumpy mess as well.  I needed 5 drops of thinner before it was workable.  The color was nice, but I don't think the amount of effort was worth it.

FingerPaints All You Need is Color
FingerPaints All You Need is Color
(microglitter suspended in clear base)
Index and Middle - 3 coats + Seche Vite
Ring and Pinky - 2 coats + Seche Vite

FingerPaints All You Need is Color

All You Need is color is a very smooth microglitter.  No bumps here!  I was impressed at the coverage obtained with only two coats, as seen on my ring and pinky finger.  I can see this color being very popular!

FingerPaints Peaceful Purple
FingerPaints Peaceful Purple
(microglitter suspended in clear base)
Index and Middle - 3 coats + Seche Vite
Ring and Pinky - 2 coats + Seche Vite

FingerPaints Peaceful Purple

Peaceful Purple is also a very smooth microglitter.  I predict this one will be a sellout!

Which color has won your heart over?  Do you like Psychedelic Sunshine as much as I do?  Will it kill any lemmings you have for Chanel Mimosa???  It killed mine!!!

Anybody got $84.99?

So you might have noticed that lately I have gone off the deep end for cosmetics.  See before I fell in love with nail polish, I loved eyeshadow palettes.  That kinda fell by the wayside when  I discovered MUA's Nail Board.  But after acquiring over 800 polishes (no I still have not counted) I kinda got bored.  Don't get me wrong.  I still love polish, and it is a true love.  =)  But I have recently discovered the joy of drugstore makeup and coupons.  See I used to be a makeup snob and only bought makeup at Sephora or Nordstrom.  Recently I have been turned on to how freakin' awesome some drugstore makeup really is.  And my stockpile is overflowing.  For example, I have backups of backups of backups of my favorite drugstore mascara.  (When it's on sale and my coupon makes is $0.97 I can't help it.)  And I am acquiring Revlon lipsticks and glosses faster than I can count.  (Today I found some Colorburst lipsticks for $2.00 at CVS!)  So I am running out of storage - even with two helmers and two Alex's from IKEA.  So when I got an email from Joann Fabrics (a girl has gotta buy felt somewhere!) and saw this sale item, you know where my brain was heading!

# 2348274
reg. 144.99
sale 84.99
I have seen these before as a single unit, but not as a double!  Sooooooo many eyeshadow palettes could fit in there!  Too bad I already spent my "allowance" on some awesome ebay hauls!

Do any of you have this unit, either the single or the double?  PLEASE let me know if you have it!  I really want to hear your thoughts!!!
