Nails Inc, the nail manicure and cosmetics business founded by former fashion journalist Thea Green, is heading to America.
Ms Green, who received an MBE for her work in the beauty industry last week, has teamed up with LVMH-owned Sephora, which sells branded beauty products and fragrances. Nails Inc products will be sold in nearly 200 shops in the US and Canada from August.
The company will soon reveal figures for 2010 showing turnover of £15m and like-for-like sales growth for its 2009-10 financial year of 14 per cent. Set up in 1999, Nails Inc was based on the US-style fashion for nail bars and the "15 minute manicure" and now has 60 outlets in Britain.
Ms Green said: "There couldn't be a better time to expand into the US. The states is the home of nails. We are more fashion forward than most of the established brands and our products have traded very well through the recession."
Nails Inc has also agreed a tie up with US department store Henri Bendel to open pop up stores.
What do you think, lacquerheads?
I personally love the Nails Inc line, I only have about 6-7 that I have received in swaps.
