Alex vs. Helmer
However, as my stash grew, I became less and less enamored with the Helmers. Mostly because of lack of floorspace, the amount of Helmers I would need would be at least four, and they take up a lot of room! When my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas last year, I immediately said "a tall Alex!" Luckily, he knew I meant furniture.
I took pictures of my stash so you can see how much can fit in each piece of furniture. Again, to see Helmers in use, click here.

Revlon, Orly, SpaRitual
Funky Fingers, Kleancolor, Icing, Cult Nails, BB Couture, Nubar

Catrice, GOSH, Nails Inc, p2, Bloom, BYS, Barry M

The Short Alex
The top three drawers in the Short Alex are too shallow for polish, so I use them to store some of my makeup and such.

To give you an idea of how many polishes you can fit in the short Alex, I have 84 OPI's in the bottom drawer, and it is half full. One of the deeper drawers has been omitted.
EDIT: Another short Alex owner has informed me that these drawers cannot support the weight if they are full! I won't be adding any additional polish to them.
Today, my two Helmers hold franken suppies, mailing supplies and hair accessories!
Both the Helmer and the Alex can be purchased at IKEA. Retail price varies by country, but in the US Helmers are $39.99 and the two Alex units shown are $119.99 each. I found the drawer liners at Target.
I hope you enjoy a peak inside my stash!
