In a not too distant past, OPI Designer Series (or ‘DS’) polishes were special. Special enough to warrant a $12.50 price tag. They contained holographic particles (like DS Sapphire) and Diamond Dust (like DS Glamour). However, the last few OPI DS polishes that have been release are, well to put it bluntly, not “Designer.” They are great polishes, but they don’t justify a higher price tag (in the US OPI retail for $8.50).

Of the two polishes released this past fall, if you were going to spend your money on one of them I would highly recommend OPI DS Temptation. Sure, it’s just another glitter polish, but it’s a fabulous one at that. The mix of royal blue, purple, and teal seems like it should have been done before but I can’t find a dupe in my stash. I wish I could say the same for DS Bold. It looks exactly like China Glaze Mrs. Claus from last year. I would do a comparison for you, but alas, I didn’t buy it. It’s not my cup of tea.
