I have a confession to write. I didn’t like the butter LONDON Lippy’s when they first came out. I was sent two to try, but I found the smell so unpleasant I couldn’t even bring myself to write a review of them. So when butter LONDON asked if I wanted to try the new Lippy/polish combo sets for fall, I was hesitant. Hoping that the third time’s a charm, I agreed. And I’m glad I did! I was sent the Lippy and Nail Lacquer in Toff.
The horrible floral smell, which I found so offensive, is gone. It has be replaced with a caramel toffee flavor that is divine. It smells like one of those drinks from Starbucks that has more than a 1,000 calories in it… The best part is a minute or two after I applied the gloss, I couldn’t smell anything! I love products scents that don’t linger. (Unless we are talking about perfume… I mean, if it doesn’t linger, what’s the point?) The color is great too... a darker, dustier, brownish variation on a rose pink that when applied is my perfect MLBB shade.
The nail color is slightly darker than the lip color. Inside it appears to be a dark mauve, but outside it was more of a raisin shade. Very work appropriate. Very Fall. I can only see myself wearing this in the Fall or Winter, while I can see myself wearing the lip gloss year round.
