Sation has been around the nail polish industry for a long time (since 1983), but have recently revamped their polishes, formula, and more importantly, their sales strategy - this is a brand that you will be able to buy at TJ Maxx and Marshalls! I have some polishes from two of their recent collections to share with you today - The Little Horse collection (Blue Sky’s the Limit and Rock-A-Guy-Blue) and the Nailstock collection (Imagine-Sation, I’m with the Bandana, Magic Mani Bus and 3 Free-dom). Please note, the Nailstock collection is Limited Edition!
I will also be sharing some info about their new Glitters at the end of this post, and telling you how you can take part in the TJX Treasure Hunt! But first, back to the polish!
For all swatches, I used Beauty Secrets Base coat, two coats of polish, and one coat of Seche Vite. The only exception was Magic Mani Bus, where I used three coats of polish.
Magic Mani Bus is a light lime green crème that appears very pale in the bottle but brightens up on the nails. It is a very soft green that reminds me of spring!
Blue Sky’s the Limit is a blue crème that is just slightly darker than sky blue, but “bluer” than robin’s egg blue. It was opaque in 1.5 coats, which is pretty amazing for a blue as light as this. I loved that it didn’t come off as too “summery” and that it could be worn year round. It would look great with some silver and white snowflakes stamped on it!
3 Free-Dom was my surprise favorite of the bunch. When I opened the box I thought it was just another pale nude… I was wrong! I can’t quite put my finger on what made me like it so much… it’s a pale greige (grey-beige) with a hint of lavender… gorgeous! I liked it so much I wore it three days in a row!
I’m with the Bandana is a gorgeous brown shimmer with lots of depth. I love it with my skin tone and it was so easy to apply!
Imagine-Sation is a delightfully dark vampy jelly-crème. I love these kind of shades in the fall! This shade would look great on very short nails (aka “nubbins”).
Rock-A-Guy-Blue is a navy crème that leans teal. The color is very rich and deep, and did not stain my nails. This is gorgeous for fall and all year round!
