Makeup Wars: Emerald Green

In this week's edition of Makeup Wars the girls are interpreting the Pantone Color of the Year, Emerald.  Since this is a nail blog, naturally I wanted to bring you the "perfect" Pantone Emerald polish!

While I often think of Emerald as a deep jewel tone green, Pantone's Emerald is much different.  I found after I dug through my enormous polish stash that almost all the greens I pulled out were rich Christmas glitters or smooth deep cremes.  Perplexed, I found myself wondering if I even had a true Emerald green!

Luckily, I was saved by the UPS man when he delivered a box to me on Friday that contained the most perfect Pantone Emerald I could have hoped for - Color Club Wild Cactus, from their Fiesta Spring Collection!

I had a hard time capturing this color on camera, but I promise you it's made of awesomesauce!  In real life it is much closer to the color of the Pantone swatch above.  What's even better?  Not only is the color perfect but the the formula is fantastic!  Thick - but in a good way - easy to control, and it dried to a shiny plastic-like finish.  I wore it all weekend at work and only have minor tip wear, which says a lot because I have a very demanding job that is hard on my hands!

Can't wait to get on the Pantone trend?  Sephora has you covered, I listed some of my favorites from their new Pantone collection below!

Now go check out the rest of the Makeup Wars posts for more Emerald Inspiration!
