Nicole by OPI Gumdrops ♥ Swatches and Review

Nicole by OPI Gumdrops

Are you tired of the Textured Trend yet?  I hope not, because I still have a few collections to show you!  I asked on Facebook whether you wanted to see these or the Textured polishes from China Glaze, and you chose Nicole by OPI’s Gumdrops Collection!  The name, IMO, makes absolutely no sense, especially when there was already another collection with the same name…  Here is the official description:
Dries to a textured matte finish infused with reflective glints of light.  Apply two coats of color.  Do not add topcoat.
The good news is that even for people not on the textured bandwagon, there are a few polishes in this collection I think you will like whether you want to or not!

Blue-Berry Sweet On You is a denim blue shade that I was prepared not to like, but the hint of periwinkle drew me in and I love that is polish is all one color.  However, after applying two coats as directed I see some bald spots, so I would recommend three coats for this one.

Cinna-Man of My Dreams is an amazing duochrome textured polish that reminds me of OPI Warm & Fozzie from the Muppets collection.  I didn’t think I would like this one because I am not into browns, but I ♥ it!  It covered easily in two coats.

A-Nise Treat is an amazing “dark sky” polish in the vain of Nars Night Breed or Nubar Knight’s Armor, but with texture!  It would make an amazing base color for a galaxy nails manicure.  Two coats was more than sufficient for this shade.

Candy Is Dandy is a light pink with small silver shards and two sizes of holographic glitter.  I highly doubted that this one would cover my nails in two coats - but it did! I am not loving this one, but it is the most “gumdrop-like” of the bunch.

I Lilac Gumdrops is (naturally) a lilac shade filled with silver shards and small holographic glitter.    It did cover decently in two coats.  This shade was another one I didn’t care for, but like Candy Is Dandy, it at least fits in with the theme of the collection.

My Cherry Amour is an AMAZING berry red filled with micro holographic glitter.  This one really drew me in, so much that I applied it as a full mani when I was done swatching!  The holographic glitter really comes alive when topcoat is applied!

Overall these were the least “bumpy” textured polishes I have tried, which means I can honestly wear them for more than a few hours without a top coat!  Because they aren’t very bumpy, they are also easy to topcoat, unlike a lot of the other textured polishes on the market!  My picks are:  Cinna-Man of My Dreams, A-Nise Treat, My Cherry Amour, and Blue-berry Sweet On You.
