Makeup Wars: Summer Foundation Routine

Makeup Wars Summer Foundation

This week the Makeup Wars bloggers are showing you a peak at their Summer Foundation Routine.  Most of the year I can’t be torn from my beloved Skin79 BB Cream (which I told you about in another Makeup Wars post).  I love it because its super moisturizing!  However, in the summer my dry skin isn’t as dry as it is in the winter… which means my Skin79 can slide right off my face when I sweat.  Plus I have been using self-tanner on my face and the Skin79 really isn’t a match anymore.   I have repeatedly tried to wear powder foundation in the summer, but my skin is still too dry!  And I hate the way it looks under my eyes.

Thankfully I have recently found four fantastic products that work together magically!
        • Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream in Light to Medium
        • Laura Geller Balance-N-Bronze in Fair
        • MAC Satin Blush in Prim & Proper
        • Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Angelic

Honestly I don’t like American BB Creams, and probably would not have picked up the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream on my own, but I received it in my Influenster Sunkissed VoxBox.  I have purchased the Fresh Effect Wipes before and the BB Cream has the same fresh scent!  It gives a sheer wash of color to my face that helps even my skin damage, but does not cover it.  That’s where the Laura Geller Balance-N-Bronze comes in!  It’s definitely full coverage, so I apply it sparingly with my Bobbi Brown Powder Brush, using the lighter side all over and the bronzer side mixed with the lighter side to contour.

MAC Prim & Proper is the perfect blush to give me a healthy glow and looks great with my faux-tan skin.  I honestly have had this for years (which you can tell by the limited edition packaging) but I have never really reached for it until this summer.  I bought it more for the packaging then anything - love Liberty of London!  I am really glad I own it now because it's perfect.  A touch of Tarte Angelic, which I use as a highlighter, brightens up my face by gently dusting it in the classic “C” shape on my temples.
