Have you heard of Cowshed? I hadn’t, until very recently! Cowshed is a UK based luxury brand that specializes in natural and luxurious bath and body products. Thankfully there are no “cow” ingredients in the line, rather the name was taken after the building the line was first created in – an old cow shed. The brand is relatively new, it was established in 1998. Which actually was longer ago than I care to admit, since it is the year I graduated from high school.
I received the Cow Pat Moisturizing Manicure Maintenance Kit ($30). Included in the kit: Cow Pat Hand Cream, Apricot Cuticle Oil, 100% cotton moisture gloves, Emery Board and Cuticle Stick.
The Cow Pat Moisturizing Hand Cream, which is infused with grapefruit and coriander essential oils, worked wonderfully but had a very herbal smell. I think I personally would prefer the Cow Slip Moisturizing Manicure Maintenance Kit. It includes Cow Slip Hand Cream, which is infused with Sweet Orange and Peppermint essential oils. The Apricot Cuticle Oil, on the other hand (get it?), smells wonderful, almost lemony. It’s definitely something I would repurchase in a heartbeat.
The weather here in Iowa finally figured out that It is fall, which for me resulted in dried out cuticles and yucky, hard skin around my nails. Using this kit has restored my hands to their former glory! For the past two weeks I have been using the Cow Pat hand cream and the Apricot Cuticle Oil off and on, but last night I did the full treatment: I exfoliated my hands with a sugar scrub, applied the cuticle oil, then hand cream, and popped the gloves on right before I went to sleep. Even though I only managed to keep the gloves on for 4 hours, I woke up to soft hands that are ready for a day of swatching!
Now that I have tried out Cowshed products, I am anxious to try more from the line. They have some hilariously named perfumed oils like Wild Cow, Grumpy Cow, Lazy Cow and Horny Cow! I also think their Dirty Cow would look lovely on my bathroom sink!
