I was recently given the opportunity to try out two shades from Rococo’s Sheer Gloss Summer Sheers collection – Once Bitten and Poison. Rococo is one of those brands I have always been drawn to, but never having seen a display in person I only owned one polish – the Rococo Gold Leaf Lacquer. Now that I have tried out these two polishes (including a multiday wear test) I am itching to get my hands on more!

Once Bitten is an amazingly glossy red candy apple red. It practically glows on your tips, even in the shade where I took these pictures.
Poison is a sheer raspberry shade. I was strangely drawn to it and this was the shade I chose to conduct my wear test. This polish survived three days at work with only minor tip wear and no chips. Since my job consists of using my hands all day (I work in retail management) the fact that there were no chips was just short of amazing!
In the sun, both shades appear lighter and more sheer. I initially based on the name “Sheer Gloss” that these polishes would have a jelly formula, but they are not. They are just as described – a sheer gloss. They actually remind me of the Revlon Just Tinted polishes, but with much better coverage and wear. For each polish I applied three very thin coats, but two normal coats would work just as well.
Can we talk about the boxes for a minute? Rococo has the most wonderful packaging. Truly a luxury! Rococo Sheer Gloss lacquers retail for $16.50 and can be purchased from Space NK, Beauty.com and Bloomingdales.
