Welcome back to Makeup Wars! I missed the last post and almost missed this one because I wasn't paying attention to my calendar (broke another New Year's Resolution!). The worst part about almost missing this post? The topic was my idea!
What was that fabulous idea, you ask? Well, this week we are telling you about products we have purchased based on fellow bloggers reviews! I don't know about you, but I rely HEAVILY on swatches when purchasing makeup. I do not have the luxury of a great Sephora with wonderful staff near me. No, even though there is a Sephora within 5 minutes from my house, I don't visit there often. Why? Because I get frustrated when I ask the staff questions and they look at me with blank stares! Grr! Why do I know more about products that they sell than they do? So, I do 95% of my Sephora shopping online! And that is why other blogger's recommendations mean so much to me! Now, if I listed every single product I purchased that was because of another blogger, it would probably take me a week to write this post. Instead, I dug through my most used makeup and grabbed the items that I could immediately remember who made me buy them!
Some of these products were Limited Editon and have long since been discontinued. Some of them were already discontinued when I decided to buy them! Like my very first item...
Now, I did leave one major resource out, that being Christine of Temptalia. I can honestly say that every single MAC lipstick I own is due to her! And I didn't even touch on the topic of nail polish! Let's just say in my early days, every single polish I bought was because of Scrangie!

- Stila Kitten Summer Palette - The perfect shimmery neutral palette for summer, this palette came out in 2006 but it wasn't until 2009 that I discovered it's existence. Thanks to Carleen's swatches, I become obsessed with this palette and stalked it on eBay for several months before I found it and made it mine!
- NARS Eyeshadow Single in Lhasa - When the Queen of Taupe tells you to buy a Taupe Eyeshadow, you BUY A TAUPE EYESHADOW! This one came home with me on my 32nd birthday, thanks to Pink Sith and my husband's credit card.
- NARS Tzarine and Rajastan Eyeshadow Duos - It's kind of embarrassing if I told you how much items I have purchased based on Sabrina's recommendations, but these two are my favorites!
- MAC Daylight Mineralize Eye Shadow - I don't purchase a lot of MAC products, so when I do it is almost always because of one of two bloggers, in this case, Brooke! I love this as a quick wash of color, though it doesn't look as good on me as it does on her!
- Sonia Kashuk Glisten Bronzer/Blush Duo - Another fabulous product I purchased because of Brooke, though I did it with some awesome coupons!
- Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadows - As soon as Kelly swatched these dupes of Laura Mercier's Art Deco Shadows, I knew I had to have them. Unfortunately, my wallet did not agree. So when they went on clearance at Sephora for $7, I bought every single shade they had!
- Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Theory Sculpting Blush - Another awesome Sephora product I purchased on clearance, thanks to Izzy's recommendation that this blush would be wonderful on us pale folk!
