A recent NOTD: Marc Jacobs Jungle (Limited Edition)

Purchased by Me Affiliate Link

Marc Jacobs JungleMarc Jacobs JungleMarc Jacobs Jungle

I have the second of the two limited edition Marc Jacobs Enamored Nail Lacquers I purchased at Sephora to share with you today – Jungle

Jungle is a smooth, creamy Forest green.  The formula was a traditional crème formula (not gel-like, as New Wave was).  Isn’t it gorgeous?  I love it, though don’t be fooled by the bottle shot on Sephora website (yes – they are finally on the website!) which shows it to be more of an army green.

FingerPaints Pop Movement ♥ Swatches and Review

Press Sample Affiliate Link

FingerPaints Pop Movement Collection

FingerPaints has been hitting it out of the park lately with their collections – both Shredded Chromes and Pastel Rain were amazing!  Now they are back with ANOTHER awesome collection called Pop Movement!  Pop Movement consists of three cremes and three matte glitters!

FingerPaints Art Deco PinkFingerPaints Ka-Pow over Art Deco PinkFingerPaints Kitchy TangerineFingerPaints Three's A Party over Kitchy Tangerine
FingerPaints Paper MacheFingerPaints Kozmotology over Paper Mache

Let’s start with the base colors!  Art Deco Pink and Kitchy Tangerine had crazy awesome formulas.  They were shiny, creamy and smooth.  They were both almost one-coaters!  Art Deco Pink must have some neon pigment it because it really freaked out my camera.  Paper Mache is a bright, stark white.  I was hoping this would be a two coat white, but my nails are in such bad shape (from peelies) right now that I did need three coats to get it even.

As for the glitters, what more is there to say than they are so fun!  I love the mix of colors!  I would have a hard time choosing a favorite between Ka-Pow, Three’s A Party and Kozmotology.  I love that we are getting all matte glitters from a mainstream brand like FingerPaints!

FingerPaints Pop Movement is now available online and will be available in Sally Beauty stores in May… aka THURSDAY!  Even if glitters aren’t your thing, I highly recommend picking up Art Deco Pink and Kitchy Tangerine – they are the perfect juicy cremes for summer!  I’m not sure what May’s promo will be, but FingerPaints are currently Buy Two Get One FREE!  I see no reason why you shouldn’t pick up all six with a  deal like that!

UPDATE:  For the month of May, FingerPaints polishes are on sale for $3.99 each, except the Shredded Chromes which are currently $3.29 for Beauty Club Members!

butter LONDON Sweet Somethings – Pink Ribbon, Doily and Petticoat

Press Sample Affiliate Link

butter LONDON Sweet Somethings

Happy Monday!  Did you all have a good weekend?  I had Saturday AND Sunday off, which is a rarity for me!  Today I have the butter LONDON Sweet Somethings Collection for you – at least I have 3 of the 4 polishes!  The Sweet Somethings Collection is butter LONDON’s bridal collection which debuted at the Monique Lhuillier.

butter LONDON Pink Ribbon (Sweet Nothings Collection)

Pink Ribbon is a light soft pink with a hint of shimmer.  When I saw this in the bottle I thought is would be a streaky sheer mess, but when I applied it I was blown away!  The opacity built up quickly in two coats, and it seems so bright to me!

butter LONDON Petticoat (Sweet Nothings Collection)

Petticoat is a creamy light blue.  It’s also not what I expected.  I was thinking it would be a soft baby blue, but this blue is saturated and bright!  Very pigmented and shiny!  Shown here with two coats.

butter LONDON Doily over Pink Ribbonbutter LONDON Doily over Pink Ribbon butter LONDON Doily over Petticoat (Sweet Nothings Collection)

Doily is a sheer overcoat filled with white matte bar glitter and different sizes of hex glitter.  It is intended to look like lace when applied to the nails.  I love the delicate, ethereal look it gives when layered over Pink Ribbon!

There is one more polish in this collection that I don't have, called Alabaster Glaze.  You can see it swatched on Peachy Polish.

I’ve gotta give butter LONDON props.  I thought this was going to be just another sheer bridal collection.  Instead they have given us some awesome polishes anyone can where, anytime!

The Sweet Somethings Fashion Size Set is available now at ULTA.com and zappos.com, where it retails for $35.00.  I’ve already spotted it in person at ULTA too!  Will you be picking it up?

PSA: Formula X for Sephora polishes spotted at Marshall's for $6.99!

I Bought It Affiliate Link

Yesterday while running around doing errands with the hubby, I found these two Formula X for Sephora polishes at Marshall's for $6.99!  The two shades I found were Opposites Attract and Super Charged, both from the Lusters collection.  (See nail wheel swatches on Instagram).

Formula X for Sephora Opposites Attract and Super Charged

Both of these shades are still full priced at$12.50 on Sephora's website.  I'm not sure if they are being discontinued, but I am going to keep my eye out for more!

Today’s NOTD: Marc Jacobs New Wave (Limited Edition)

Affiliate Link

Marc Jacobs New Wave

Remember last week when I went to Sephora to return something and walked out with the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip And Cheek Creamy Oil?  Well, I also walked out with these:

Marc Jacobs New Wave and Jungle

Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in New Wave and Jungle (swatched here).  I knew that Marc Jacobs was releasing a limited edition shade in Bark, but I hadn’t heard of these two shades… and for good reason, they aren’t even listed on Sephora’s site!  (UPDATE:  They are now online!)

I found them on a free standing rack near the registers.  The white lids drew me in, because I knew they meant limited edition.  So even though I went to Sephora to return stuff, these two also came home with me – but, hey, at least I resisted Bark, right?

Marc Jacobs New Wave

As I have been wearing New Wave for less than 24 hours, I can’t comment on wear, but I can tell you that it applied flawlessly – on of those polishes you barely have to clear up because the formula goes right where you want it.  Actually, the formula feel like a very thin gel when applying it!  It was oh so shiny in two coats, but I topped it off with my trusty CND Air Dry for good measure.

Have a great weekend!

Barielle Vibrants

For Spring 2014, Barielle is bringing us not one but two collections - Vibrants and Velvets.  Today I have swatches of the Vibrants for you - six cremes in the perfect formula that I have come to expect from Barielle!

I have a hard time reviewing Barielle collections, mostly because the formula is so reliable that I find it hard to come up with any differentiating comments for each polish!  The Vibrants collection was no different.  Each was easy to apply and even in two coats.  The only thing I have to point out is Designer's Shoe.  See how the color in the bottle is different than the color on the nail?  The color on my nails changed when I applied top coat, which I found very interesting!

I love the mix of cool toned cremes (First Class Ticket and My City Apartment) with bright colors (Money Talks, Fire Me Up and Take Me Shopping), although they don't feel very cohesive to me.  In fact, I wouldn't call more than half of this collection Vibrant - but I call them all perfect!

Which shade is your favorite?

My latest obsession: JOSIE MARAN Argan Infinity Lip And Cheek Creamy Oil

This post brought to you by Sephora and Progrids.com

JOSIE MARAN Argan Infinity Lip And Cheek Creamy OilJOSIE MARAN Argan Infinity Lip And Cheek Creamy Oil swatchedJOSIE MARAN Argan Infinity Lip And Cheek Creamy Oil blended

Last Saturday while running errands, I went to Sephora to return something.  When I walked in the door, the first thing I saw were the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip And Cheek Creamy Oil.  It was front and center and there was no way around it!  I was drawn in like a moth to a flame.  I had recently added some Josie Maran products to the imaginary wish list in my head after reading this post from Phyrra.

Even though my bank account would have benefitted much more by a simple return, I exchanged the skincare I was bringing back for this Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil in Limitless Pink.  I picked it because it seemed to be the sheerest of the bunch.  It’s the opposite of what most people would do, I know, but I’m weird like that!

Limitless Pink can be applied to either your lips or cheeks (obviously).  When applied to the lips it is very soothing and I can literally feel it change from a cream to an oil.  It adds a rosy tint to my lips, more of a tinted lip treatment than a gloss or a balm.  My lips feel hydrated for several hours after applying.  The closest thing I can think to compare it to is my Bite Beauty Agave Mask that I apply when I go to bed, but in a thinner consistency.

The main reason I purchased Limitless Pink was to work as a cheek product!  I have been reaching more and more for my IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination (click here for my review).  I picked up the light version during their recent Friends & Family sale.  It’s the only powder foundation I have ever truly enjoyed wearing because it does not look powdery or highlight the dry patches on my face.  My cheeks can look dry though, after applying a powder blush!  Since I can’t have that I wanted to find a creamy cheek product I could layer over the foundation when I am getting ready for work in the morning.

And that folks, is the reason I wanted a more sheer color -  the lighting in my beauty room is horrid at 7:00 in the morning and I often find myself in the bathroom at work trying to blend the blush on the right cheek with my fingers!  I have no trouble blending Limitless Pink.  It applies effortlessly without disturbing the foundation beneath it and gives my cheeks a healthy, radiant glow, perfect for work.  It even lasts all day when worn over a powder, though only 6-7 hours when wearing my beloved BB or CC creams.

Now that I know the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil works so well for me, I will be headed back to Sephora to pick up Endless Guava and Everlasting Honey!
