I really want to share more of my “best of 2014” posts with you, but I couldn’t do that before I posted this review of the Pretty Serious Rooftop Soiree collection! There are a few polishes in this collection that I will be referring to in those posts… and already did in my Best Glitters of 2014 post!
While the Pretty Serious Rooftop Soiree is a holiday collection, we have to remember that the holidays look a little different in Australia than they do here in the States – even though most of the U.S. didn’t have a White Christmas! So these polishes are not only holiday party appropriate – they PARTY appropriate!
Cocktail Bar is a polish made for a mermaid! It is a green-leaning teal packed with various sizes and colors of hex glitter and micro glitter. Most polishes with this much glitter in them are a PITA to apply, but Cocktail Bar was surprisingly easy!
Moments til Midnight is a blue jelly base with large gold hex glitter and smaller gold micro glitter. It’s like a jelly sandwich in a bottle! I was sure that I would need to layer this polish, but I achieved full opacity in just two coats!
Red Carpet Treatment is a red-headed sister of Moments til Midnight – a red base filled with large red hex glitter and smaller red micro glitter. The formula on Red Carpet Treatment was not as easy to manage as Cocktail Bar or Moments til Midnight.
Daphne After Dark is a stunning charcoal base filled with red, gold, blue, green and purple micro glitter. I layered three coats here, but you could achieve a similar result by applying one layer over a black crème. This one made it on my Top 10 Glitters of 2014 list!
Glitz & Glamour is a blindingly beautiful polish – a clear base filled with silver and gold microglitter. I applied three layers to get the beauty you see above, but it can easily be used as a layering polish.
Invitation Only is the only non-glitter of the bunch, but it was the first one I reached for when I opened the box. It’s a stunning combination – a holographic shifting charcoal that is right up my alley!
Pretty Serious continues to amaze me with their color combinations and their great formula, all for only $9.95 per bottle! You can purchase Pretty Serious on their website and from their numerous stockists.
